We affectionately refer to this red blend as the “mullet of wine”: classic red wine in the front and party bourbon in the back. Made with some of our best high elevation Lake County fruit.
Our Syrah and Petite Sirah provide the juicy, yet structured base. We blend in small amounts of Merlot for a fleshy mid palate, Petit Verdot for aromatics and tannin, and Barbera for a touch of acidity and balance.
The black cherry and blackberry flavors are prominent in the mouth, harmonizing beautifully with the balanced tannins and the soft yet pronounced acidity.
Aging Cabernet Sauvignon in bourbon barrels shows off the natural ripe fruits while softening the tannins and adding an aged balance to the wine. Each sip resonates with rich hints of bourbon.
