Winemaker Series Malbec 2021

In the glass it presents an intense and deep ruby tone showing the depth and concentration of the wine. On the nose there are ripe blackberries and dark cherries with hints of plum. Also notes of cocoa, vanilla and exotic spices. On the palate, our Malbec offers a velvety texture where soft tannins provide structure and balance.

About this wine

Notes of coffee, cocao, sage, dark chocolate, and ripe fruit give this wine an impressive character and distinctive flavor. Bright fruit, spice, texture, and all of the tannin is a hallmark of the high elevation vineyards of Lake County. The dark fruits, old world characters and dried herbs come from the lower elevations of north Napa County.

Jeronimo and Carolina, our husband and wife winemaking team, came from the high elevations of Mendoza, Argentina. There they mastered the art of making exceptional Malbec. Having found a special block on our mountain estate vineyard, the two of them set to crafting this small lot with their passion and love for the grape.

Vintage Notes

In 2021, we experienced mild spring weather and early blooms, followed by a heatwave from May to July. Despite the drought, our sheep helped retain soil moisture, resulting in an early harvest from August 12th to October 20th, producing small but highly concentrated berries. This vintage promises exceptional depth and intensity.
