Shannon Ridge

Appellation Series Red Blend 2021

Lake County, California is a rugged mountain wine region. Vineyards here are rooted in ancient volcanic soils planted 1,600 to 3,000 feet in elevation. These grape vines flourish in the cool winds that blow off California’s largest freshwater lake, while ripening in the hot summer days. The wine from this region boasts great structure and complexity.

Vintage Notes

In 2021, we experienced mild spring weather and early blooms, followed by a heatwave from May to July. Despite the drought, our sheep helped retain soil moisture, resulting in an early harvest from August 12th to October 20th, producing small but highly concentrated berries. This vintage promises exceptional depth and intensity.
