Vintage Notes
The 2020 vintage started out dry and warm. Weeks of 100+ degree weather in early May gave the vines a jump start. The heat held strong until August with a record 116˚ day in July! We started harvest a week earlier than normal, with all white grapes in house and fermenting beautifully by Sept 20th. The temperature cooled down to 80s during the harvest lull and stretched out the hang time on our reds allowing phenolic ripeness of the skins. A welcome cloud cover came on October 10th and allowed the fruit to dehydrate and get more hang time. Tonnages ended up lighter due to low spring rains. We are seeing good color concentration and density in this vintage.
The aroma is a delightful blend of bright red fruit, such as cherry and raspberry from Grenache, complemented by the darker fruit and peppery notes of Syrah, and the added complexity of earthy and herbal tones from Mourvèdre.

This wine has a rich and exuberant texture, with aromas and flavors ranging from citrus to tropical fruits. We also find buttery notes and a creamy richness accompanying these flavors, as well as the toasty and vanilla imparted by the oak.
