Petite Verdot 2021

High Valley provides an ideal terroir for Petit Verdot. The unique combination of high elevation, volcanic soils, and proximity to Clear Lake creates a microclimate conducive to the slow and uniform ripening of Petit Verdot grapes. The cool breezes from the lake help to temper the warm daytime temperatures,  preserving acidity and flavor development in the grapes while protecting against excessive heat stress. This results in our OVIS Petit Verdot that is rich, expressive and full of character, reflecting both the unique attributes of the grape and the place where it is grown.

It took us three long years to find the very best block of Petit Verdot in our Red Hills vineyard and an additional two years of barrel aging to craft this beautifully balanced wine.

Aromas of dried plum, juicy cherry, and white pepper, balanced with flavors of marionberry, sultanas, herbs de Provence, and clove that linger for ages. This very dark garnet wine will leave your glass stained and age in your cellar for years to come.
